HP and Community Events and Announcements 9/30-10/6



Tuesday, 10/2
8:00 p.m.—Honors LLP, Patterson Residence Hall Lobby—Come join us for a sleep psychology program! Researchers will come and talk about sleep and why it is SO important. There will also be a chance to decorate pillow cases!
Wednesday, 10/3
5:00 pm – HPSC Meeting – HP Student Lounge. Get involved with the Honors Program Student Council. New members welcome!
9:00 p.m. –The First Presidential Debate of 2012—location: your TV. As future community leaders (and general smarty-pantses), you should tune in and watch the first debate of this election season. Jim Lehrer, executive editor of PBS's "NewsHour," will be moderating and the debate will focus on domestic policy issues.  

Thursday, 10/4
3:30 – 4:30 pm – HP Knit Club – Honors Student Lounge. Bring your fiberwork in progress or learn how on our supplies!

Saturday, 10/6
10:00 – 11:00 am –Family Day Reception – Patterson Hall, Ballroom. Family Day is a great opportunity for students’ parents and siblings to meet with faculty! Come mingle!!!

Community Service Corner: Don’t forget to log your community service hours HERE!

DanceBlue 5K: To kick off UK's Homecoming Week there will be a DanceBlue 5K. It will be on Sunday, October 14th at Commonwealth Stadium at 3:00 pm. The early-registration fee is $15 and after September 28th until the day of the race the registration fee is $20. I hope that the honors program will have a presence at this event.
